About The Accommodation

Wigtown House comfortably sleeps up to 14 guests across six beautifully styled bedrooms, each with its own character. From the expansive Bay Room Suite with sweeping sea views to the cosy cocoon of the Moonlight Room in the loft, every space is designed for rest, comfort, and a touch of indulgence.

Whether you’re travelling with family, a group of friends, or after a peaceful solo escape, you’ll find rooms ranging from kings and doubles to a bunk room for younger guests, paired with comfortable bathrooms and charming views.

Entrance

Step through the original front door, over 220 years old, into a spacious hallway that sets the tone for the house. Painted in rich, dramatic tones, it features a large antique dresser and a notice board of local recommendations and events.

A second inner door leads into the heart of the home, while the original open staircase rises through all three floors, with cast-iron spindles, a sweeping handrail, and tall windows spilling in natural light.

The Oceanview Parlour

A bay window overlooking the sea and a front window framing garden views make this a stylish, light-filled retreat.

Dark green walls, a striking black marble fireplace, and parquet flooring add sophistication, while three settees and a large marble coffee table invite relaxation or entertaining – equally at home in summer sun or a cosy winter gathering.

The Gathering Room

Stretching the full length of the house, this is the heart of the home. The sitting area has a large TV and bay views, with two settees and a full-wall bookshelf.

The kitchen features a quartz island with high stools, a range cooker, an American fridge/freezer, and an old oak dresser. The dining area seats 12, and a bar area adds a bit of fun for anyone fancying themselves a mixologist. A utility room and downstairs loo complete the space.
